Our swamp maple, one of my favorite trees in the world and a major factor in our decision to buy this house. The only time I ever called a tree expert was shortly after purchase, to make sure it was healthy (if it went down it would take most of the house with it!). The expert said with a grin that it should have been cabled 100 years ago but it's too late now!

We lucked out here in central CT and got little snow and hardly any wind; the rest of New England, and beyond, got slammed with this storm.
I would love to see the swamp maple dressed for Fall. Had to look up "how to cable a tree". Learned something new.
