2010-11 crossover finish

Technically I finished it in 2011, but I made the label in 2010 and on New Year’s Eve started the handstitching on the binding so I’m calling it 2010. Made as part of the Fat Quarterly quiltalong.

The front:

The back:

I had lots of fun with this one:  the top was easy-peasey using jelly rolls and I had a good time puzzling out how I wanted to piece the back. I used a large version of the same block which gave me the quilt name - "Thick and Thin."  Then the quilting stumped me in various ways until I remembered I could use different colored threads on front and back and didn't have to go straight geometric just 'cause the pattern is made of squares.  I relaxed and decided to do “wavicles.”

This was made for a friend and has finally been gifted so I can share it. Hope you like it.

  3. To Tara and Nadine - you'll have to fight over it after I'm dead and gone! I'm not giving this up! Our living room is now being redecordated so this quilt can be the focal. We are so in awe and thankful for this amazing piece of art! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
