Well, we're up to 9 blocks now in the Moose on the Porch Layer Cake Quilt Along.
The fabric line is Jane Sassaman's Sunshine and Shadows. It's been a real challenge for me: the colors are not matchy-matchy and several of the prints are large in scale and really want to show themselves off, something that's hard to do in a 12-inch block made from lots of pieces! (It's also nearly impossible to photograph well; I think a professional lighting setup is required for this line!)
Considering my love of bright and clear colors, you'll be able to tell at a glance which blocks I love and which I don't; I may consider re-doing a couple of them just to get rid of the muddier prints (I'm not using a layer cake, I already had FQs onhand so have extra to play with). Have you done a quiltalong like this? What do you do - re-do the blocks you're not crazy in love with, or chalk it up to experience and go with what you originally made?
My favorite block so far - but you knew that, didn't you?
Excellent blocks, great fabric!!!!
