Starry Eyed - a finish!

I finished my Starry Eyed quilt!  Three classroom sessions with Jackie, two months of homework and sweating it over my little Janome, and she's done.  Pattern is "Total Eclipse," by Judy Niemeyer.   My first "real" paper pieced quilt, the first quilt I've freemotioned.

Back, utilizing my scraps:

The quilting:  be kind, it's my first time!  I do love those King Tut variegated threads, don't you?

This one will  be given to my favorite safe house for auction; in the meantime I'm going to hang it in my living room and bask.

I owe special thanks to Debby, who provided terrific instruction in our ORBC quiltalong and the confidence to finally freemotion a whole piece, and also to Leah, who inspires us daily.  Both of these women are extraordinarily talented and giving and probably neither of them has a clue how much they've contributed to the quilting community at large.
